Q: Will there be a catalog to view?
A: Because of escalating printing cost we do not have plans to reprint or create any catalogs.

Q: What about sales tax?
A: Sales tax will be added to all orders of those residing in the state of California.

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. However, final shipping costs will be displayed on the invoice you see before confirming your order. Rates have been adjusted for handling, fuel surcharges, and other expenses in processing your order.

Q: What are your shipping methods?
A: We now ship using FedEx. Their pricing is very competitive and delivery service is one of the fastest. Some items that are too large or heavy to ship will be delivered by alternate shipping. We will notify you in advance and inform you on additional shipping fess if necessary. If you prefer another shipping method, select the "will call" shipping method on checkout, so you will not be billed for the default shipping fee. Then, contact us immediately to inform us you are requesting a different carrier or shipping method.

Q: Can I pick it up at your store?
A: Yes you can. The option is available for those wishing to visit our store or the Jodo Shinshu Center.

Q: How long before I receive my order?
A: If the items are in stock, we will ship within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). You will be notified if the item is out of stock or on back order. As soon as it leaves our store in Berkeley, delivery to Northern California is 98% guaranty next day; and to Southern California, generally two working days. Other areas are delivered as per FedEx shipping times to the respective region. The east coast is about four to five working days.

Q: Shipping to Hawaii and non-mainland destinations?
A: Shipping prices issued by this website are valid for lower 48 states only. Orders shipped to Hawaii, Canada, non-U.S., and other destinations will be sent by the most cost-effective/efficient method. Hawaii and most international shipments should select an expedited USPS service, since past experience has shown it takes longer than normal stated delivery time to ship via parcel post or First Class. We will ship the most cost effective method, but recently, we've had a number of shipments to international countries taking longer than one month to arrive. To guaranty prompt and reliable deliver service, it is recommended that an upgraded shipping method be requested, instead of the normal cost effective shipping method. This will incur higher shipping charges and we will leave it to your discretion on which shipping method to use. Shipment via FedEx is not recommended unless surcharges are authorized by the customer.

Q: What are your International shipping methods?
A: We ship worldwide via USPS. FedEx is a little too expensive, unless it is your preference. Unfortunately, this online site cannot determine the numerous countries shipping rates. Before we ship your order, we will contact you for any additional shipping rates and/or custom fees to your region. Rates range from $15 on up, based on weight, dimensions, and shipping preference.

Q: I'd like a better view of the item. Can I get a larger image?
A: We'd be happy to send you a larger image for viewing. Just let us know which item number it is and we'll send you a higher resolution image. Most images are available in high resolution and will take up to 24 hours or less to send you the file.

Q: Why the sudden price changes
A: Because 99% of our ritual items are from Japan, we reserve the right to change the pricing without notice. The weak U.S. dollar causes us to modify our items on a more frequent basis. Until the yen and dollar stabilizes, we have to adjust our prices accordingly.
